For the second consecutive year, students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University visited ELVIAL’s facilities, as part of an initiative aimed at linking the academic community with the industrial sector. The continuation of this collaboration reaffirms the shared belief in the importance of experiential learning and the transfer of technical know-how.
The students were welcomed by Mr. Nikos Kyriakou, Technical Manager and representative of the Management, Mr. Pavlos Vagionas, Plant Manager, and Mr. Stefanos Sfikas, Production Manager. Together, the three ELVIAL representatives guided a tour of the company’s production, research, and development areas, offering visitors a comprehensive insight into the industrial processes and advanced technologies in operation.
The visit included a presentation by Mr. Sfikas, who shared with the students current trends and technological advancements in the field of aluminum mechanical engineering. Examples were given of how theoretical knowledge is applied to real-world technical challenges, along with innovative projects undertaken by the company, further sparking the students' interest and deepening their understanding.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to engage directly with high-tech mechanical equipment and observe production processes that combine innovation, precision, and quality.
The visit concluded with an open discussion between the students and company executives, highlighting the importance of continuous education, hands-on training, and professional development. The students were able to ask questions, exchange ideas, and gain valuable experiences that enhance their professional profile.
ELVIAL remains firmly committed to empowering the new generation of scientists, actively supporting initiatives that bridge theory and practice and strengthen the connection between higher education and industry.
